MOSES LAKE -- The first state playoff appearance in four years ended quickly for Touchet.

No. 1-ranked Almira-Coulee-Hartline rolled to a 52-8 Class 1B quarterfinal victory Friday at Lions Field in Moses Lake.

"They are No. 1 for a reason," Touchet coach Gary Dorman said. "They have a lot of weapons, are well-coached and have good athletes."

Almira-Coulee-Hartline will face today's Pomeroy-Wellpinit winner next week at either Moses Lake or Eastern Washington University.

Touchet, which was a state powerhouse in the mid-1990s and early-2000s, hadn't reached the state playoffs since 2007, where it lost to ACH in the first round.

But the Indians put together a solid season in 2011, winning a share of the Southeast 1B title and defeating Cusick in the first round of the playoffs last weekend.

On Friday, though, they ran into a buzzsaw.

ACH scored on its first two drives, needing just six plays on its opening drive and four more on the second drive to take a 16-0 lead.

"We didn't get any stops against their offense," Dorman said. "That's kind of been the way things have gone the last couple of weeks. We just couldn't get the big stops."

The Indians responded early, going 70-yards in seven plays and scoring on a 25-yard pass from Elias Martinez to Eric Hines. Colton Goble ran in the two-point conversion and Touchet was right in the game.

But the big-play offense of the Warriors wouldn't be stopped the rest of the game.

ACH had seven possessions and scored touchdowns on all seven, including twice in a span of 2 minutes late in the first half.

After ACH's Colin Deyarmin scored from 9-yards out on a run -- one of his four touchdowns on the night -- Touchet's Martinez threw an interception on the first play from scrimmage on its next drive.

Three plays later, Deyarmin scored on a 3-yard run to give ACH a 40-8 lead at the half.

"We're disappointed in the outcome, but we're really proud of the effort," Dorman said. "It just wasn't meant to be."

Martinez led the Indians, finishing 4-of-8 for 85 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for 46 yards on six carries. Jose Martinez added 45 yards on 15 carries, while Vicente Flores had a nice catch down the right sideline and Eric Hines had two receptions for 33 yards.

Deyarmin finished with 148 yards on 18 carries, while Derek Isaak had 153 yards on eight carries with a touchdown.
