* 2000 -- Playing their fifth game in six nights, the road-weary Tri-City Americans fell 5-2 to the Saskatoon Blades in Saskatchewan. The Americans fell 10-1 to host Moose Jaw the night before, but Tri-City still finished its East swing with a 3-2 record.

* 1977 -- Mike Payne, a senior at Columbia High in Richland, strung together 11 perfect shots until denied by a stubborn 7-pin in the 12th frame to roll an American Bowling Congress-sanctioned 299 in the Senior Atomic Teens league at Atomic Lanes.
