Here’s a look at some of our college athletes who have received some season awards:

Two Tri-Citians were named first-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s volleyball all-stars.

Lindsey Wodrich and Shelby Swanson, who both play for Seattle Pacific University, were both honored this week.

Wodrich, a senior from Richland High, was a unanimous and repeat selection at outside hitter.

Swanson, a junior from Kamiakin, was chosen as the first-team setter.

Kamiakin grad Emily Jepsen, a senior middle blocker at Western Washington, was named to the second team.

Richland’s Jamie Arthurs was named the GNAC’s top goalkeeper in women’s soccer. The junior plays for Western Washington.

Two Kennewick athletes playing for Whitworth were honorable mention selections for the Northwest Conference football team, and both are defensive linemen: Kamiakin grad Jon Allen and Sophomore grad Broderick Hirai.

Kamiakin grad Bethany Huston, playing for Pacific Lutheran University, was an honorable mention selection on the All-Northwest Conference volleyball team. Amanda Grumbach, who played at Walla Walla Community College, was an honorable mention pick for Whitworth.
