Two more local baseball players will be signing to play Division I college ball this week.
Richland's Connor Moore will sign Tuesday or Wednesday to play at Seattle University. Southridge's Matt Mendenhall, who already had announced his intentions of playing for Washington State, will sign with the Cougs in a ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Southridge library.
Mendenhall, a standout third baseman, will be the second Tri-Cities baseball player to sign with WSU, joining Kennewick shortstop Trek Stemp. Mendenhall's former Suns teammates, twins Ty and Bryce Jackson, are in their freshman seasons in Pullman, and former Richland star Brett Jacobs is a junior on the squad.
Mendenhall's brother, Andrew, is a junior outfielder at Oregon.
Moore, a lefty pitcher and outfielder, also will see some familiar faces at Seattle U: Marcelino Morales (Richland, Columbia Basin), Eric Yardley (Richland), Garrett Anderson (Kamiakin) and Bryan Dalton (CBC) all are on the Redhawks roster.
