Kamiakin senior Anthony Armstrong, who last week won the 3A boys state cross country title, was back at it again Saturday.

Armstrong finished first in the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regionals in Boise, clocking the 5-kilometer course in 15 minutes, 36.9 seconds. He topped Izaic Yorks of Lakes, who was third last week, by just under 4 seconds.

The top 10 individuals and top four teams qualify for nationals Dec. 3 in Portland.

Kamiakin finished sixth in the team race, won by North Central of Spokane — another trophy to add to the six straight Washington 3A titles the Indians have won.

Braves Austin Richards (16:55.) and Austin Oser (16:55.4) finished 65-66 in the elite field, with Keengan McCormick (72nd, 16:58.7), Garrett Kraal (74th, 16:59.3), Taylor Kraal (75th, 16:59.4) and Christian Rodriguez (105th, 17:14.5) rounding out the Kamiakin team.

Glacier Peak's Amy-Eloise Neale topped North Central's Katie Knight by 9 seconds for the girls title, finishing in 17:49.0 to reverse last week’s 3A girls championship.

Armstrong will be back in action next weekend for BorderClash, the annual matchup of the best prep runners from Washignton and Oregon. This year's race is set for 10 a.m. next Sunday at the Nike campus in Beaverton, Ore.

Joining Armstrong will be: Walla Walla's JP Wolpert on the boys team; Kamiakin's Stephanie Rexus and Michelle Fletcher, and Southridge's Rachel Dahl on the girls team; and Hermiston's Eduardo Juarez, Jose Macias, Alejandro Cisneros and Javier Velasco on the Oregon boys team.
