Two Pasco men are behind bars on allegations they robbed a man who came to them to buy marijuana.
Oscar Vega Miranda, 30, and Ulises Ramirez, 20, pleaded innocent in Franklin County Superior Court to one count each of second-degree robbery.
Their trials are set for Jan. 4.
Prosecutors allege that Josue Contreras went to a Henry Street home on Oct. 29 to buy pot. Miranda and Ramirez were in a shed in the backyard, and Contreras surprised them with his late-night arrival.
The suspects then told Contreras they were going to take his stuff instead, court documents said.
Ramirez allegedly slapped Contreras on the face and removed the items from his pockets, including $40 in cash, a cellphone and a $20 check.
Pasco police responded to the property at 3:15 a.m. for reports of a robbery.
Officers found the cell phone just inside the shed where Miranda and Ramirez were when police arrived, court documents said.
The check also was found in the front pouch of Ramirez's sweatshirt, and two $20 bills were in his front pocket, documents said.
Miranda is in custody on $20,000 bail, in addition to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
Ramirez is in the Franklin County jail on $25,000 bail.
