Seniors can learn how to save money on their utility bills through conservation or low-income discounts Wednesday.
The Benton Public Utility District plans its annual senior day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kennewick and Prosser.
Customers can receive help enrolling in programs for low income people either over 62 or with disabilities. More people now are eligible for the discounts of 15 percent to 20 percent after rules were changed to include those with household incomes up to 200 percent of the poverty level.
The Benton Franklin Community Action Committee will verify incomes.
At the Kennewick event a session on saving money with energy tips and rebates is at 10 a.m. A session on rate challenges facing the Benton PUD is at 11 a.m.
The Kennewick event is at 2721 W. 10th Ave. and the Prosser event is at 250 N. Gap Road.
