A nationwide test of the emergency alert system will air on TV and radio at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The test will last about three minutes, but it will be different than the usual monthly test.
It will use a live national alert code that will appear to be an actual emergency announcement and will interrupt regularly scheduled programming.
