A vote for Brian Brooks is a vote to do what's right for Kennewick kids. Understanding the differences between school board candidates made my choice of Brooks a clear and obvious one. Brooks is committed to Kennewick's goal to have students reading on grade level, thereby ensuring they receive a meaningful education and the skills necessary for future success.

His opponent stated that teachers spend too much time on reading and changes are needed. Why would we change our nationally respected reading program, with proven results in assuring that students learn to read at grade level? Kennewick's current academic programs are succeeding.

Thanks to the significant expertise and efforts of district staff, our students are enjoying impressive gains. Kids can't vote, so they depend on us, as wise and caring citizens, to do what's right on their behalf. Stay the course for success and do what's right for Kennewick kids.
