* 2003 -- Swedish rookie Marcus Jonasen was named the Tri-City Americans' team captain by head coach Don Nachbaur. It's the first time a European player had been named a team captain for a Western Hockey League team.

* 1986 -- Brionna Johnson scored three goals and Debbie Kwong added another as Hanford defeated Toppenish 4-0 in a girls soccer match. Jennifer Bennett and Becca Huisingh combined in goal to post the shutout for the Falcons.

* 1959 -- Garrold Sadler scored three touchdowns and Ed Craig, Rick Pulsevich and Lester Blair added one apiece as Prosser defeated Mabton 38-0.
