PASCO -- The Pasco Bulldogs rallied for a victory to stave off a winless season, beating visiting North Central 24-21 at Edgar Brown Stadium on Thursday in a CBBN-GSL non-advancing crossover game.
TJ Avery connected with Ethan Cantu on a quick slant from 2-yards out with less than 30 seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs a comeback victory.
"No one likes to go 0-fer," Pasco coach Dustin Lamb said. "We had about 2 1/2 minutes left to drive down the field and used most of it."
Pasco had taken a 17-7 lead in the third quarter on a 40-yard field goal by Ryan Gibson, but the Indians scored twice in three minutes to take a late lead.
Cantu finished with five receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns, while Avery was 10-for-20 for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Sean McNiel was 8-for-14 for 98 yards and a score and Miguel Torres had six receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown.
The two teams combined for a whopping 30 penalties for 301 yards.
