OTHELLO -- The Huskies locked up the CWAC's No. 2 seed and a bye into the state playoffs with an easy home victory.

Othello (8-2 overall, 8-1 league) is the District 5/6/7 No. 3 seed and will host the winner of today's Steilacoom-Kingston game in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs Nov. 12.

Ellensburg (7-3, 7-2), meanwhile, will host Cheney (7-2) in a crossover game Tuesday. The winner will earn the District 5/6/7 No. 5 seed and play at Deer Park on Nov. 12.

On Thursday, David Garza was 16-for-24 for 228 yards and four touchdowns in the surprisingly easy blow out for the Huskies.

Othello held Ellensburg's star quarterback Matt Bennett to just 37 yards rushing on 10 carries and 57 yards passing.

Justin Lind and Trevor Walker each had two touchdown receptions.
