I would like to encourage voters in West Richland to look over the qualifications and election platform of Ron Hayden, who is running for city council. Ron is a dedicated family man who works full time as a law enforcement officer and routinely does community volunteer projects, including speaking in our area high schools.

Ron has served our country with distinction in Iraq through two combat tours of duty. Ron has been endorsed by the Home Builders Association and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 598.

Ron Hayden's council platform is direct and forthright:

1. Fiscal responsibility. Wow, get this, Ron has pledged that he will not accept the $4,200 first-year salary for councilmembers. He will direct the money to go directly to programs that benefit police and fire departments.

2. Accountability. Commitment to an open-door policy that goes the extra mile to cut red tape for citizens and businesses wherever practical.

3. Knowledge. Pro-active, gaining a comprehensive understanding about each issue before the issue comes to the West Richland City Council.
