2 women injured in collision at Highway 12 near Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA -- Two young women were injured Monday afternoon in an accident at the Highway 12 and Heritage Road intersection three miles west of Walla Walla.

Victoria Holder, 20, of Walnut, Calif., was taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. Her passenger, Abigal Salazer, 20, of New York was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Holder was driving a Prius north on Heritage Road at 3:37 p.m. when her car hit a pickup at the intersection of Highway 12, according to the Washington State Patrol. She failed to yield, police reports said.

Kolby Schafer, 37, of Marlin, the driver of the pickup, and his passenger, Anthony Stout, 37, of Puyallup, were not injured. All involved were wearing seat belts.
