As chairman of the board for Benton County Fire District 6, I would like to take this opportunity to urge you to vote for Gerry Sherman for commissioner in Fire District 3.
Gerry has worked for Fire District 6 for the past 12 years as the district administrator. He has an excellent working knowledge of all administrative aspects that face a fire district on a monthly basis.
He is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, all human resources functions, payroll and audits. We use him to review all correspondence, contracts and official documents that come before the board.
All of his work is subject to review by the state Auditor's Office every 3 years. His knowledge of the laws and regulations under which a fire district must operate makes the job of leading our district much easier for us as commissioners.
Items that require board action are always explained thoroughly and he can answer most questions that we, as board members, may have. Gerry exhibits good common sense and a professional manner when representing the district. I know that Gerry will bring all of his considerable talents to bear as a commissioner for Benton County Fire District 3, and I hope you will support him in the November election.
