Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries will conduct a book sale today and Sunday at the Kennewick branch, 1620 S. Union St.

Thousands of books, movies, audiobooks and other items will be offered at bargain prices in the library's meeting room, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

All books for children and young adults are 25 cents each.

Paperbacks also are a quarter, with some deluxe paperbacks selling for 50 cents.

Most other books are no more than $1, said Ruth Dupuis, president of the Friends of Mid-Columbia Libraries.

Sale proceeds will support the Summer Reading Program, which had 13,000 participants this year, Dupuis noted.

"Last spring we raised $8,000 and that's a lot of quarter books," Dupuis said. "There will be lots of bargains."
