* 1997 -- Johanna Erlebach had a school-record 23 kills to lead Walla Walla Community College to a five-set victory (7-15, 15-5, 15-10, 14-16, 15-7) over Yakima Valley College in an NWAACC Eastern Region game.

* 1977 -- Pete Sinclair's 75-yard touchdown with 11 seconds remaining in the third quarter gave Richland some breathing room -- a 12-point lead -- and the Bombers held on to secure a spot in the Big Nine Conference playoffs with a 28-15 home victory over Davis.

* 1970 -- Richland senior Jerry Rice finished the 2.1-mile course in 10 minutes, 6 seconds -- the best time of the day -- as the Bombers beat host Wenatchee and captured the Big Eight Conference cross country title with a perfect 5-0 record.
