An earlier letter to the editor singled out Ken Dobbin's council meeting attendance in 2010. The quoted number did not include all the meetings that year, which make his 2010 attendance 86 percent. The letter also failed to state that wasn't typical attendance. In 2011, Dobbin has attended every regular council meeting and all but two of the many workshops.
It is easy to ignore data and massage percentages, all except one: zero percent. At an Oct. 12 town hall meeting, citizens were asked to come and listen to a consultant's presentation and then break up into groups to give their ideas and goals for our city's future economic development to city leaders. Mr. Ron Hayden attended the opening presentation, but we were mystified that he left the meeting and did not participate with the citizen groups.
Mr. Hayden had the perfect opportunity to share with us the ideas he claimed the Tri-City Herald should have told us about. So, the percentage of citizens that Ron Hayden chose to stick around an important town hall meeting to listen and talk to? Zero percent.
Can't fudge that number! And Hayden wants to join our city council? Vote for Ken Dobbin, Council Position 6.
