Kennewick High School last week inducted four alumni to its Hall of Fame.

The inductees are John Neuman, class of 1925; James Billingsley, class of 1942; Bill Lampson, class of 1968; and Chuck Watson, class of 1968.

-- Neuman moved to Kennewick with his family in 1918 and attended Washington Street School. He became the first manager of the Port of Kennewick in 1955 and was the Tri-Citian of the Year in 1968. Neuman served on several boards, including the Boy Scouts Council, the Benton Franklin Counties Fair Board and the Washington Public Ports Association State Legislative Committee. He died in April 2005 at the age of 99.

-- Billingsley was born in Portland in 1924, but spent most of his life in Kennewick. In 1950, he became the first paid firefighter for the city of Kennewick and enjoyed a long career in that position. He retired as captain in 1975. After retirement, he was an advocate for the establishment of the Kennewick Firefighters Museum. He died in January.

-- Lampson was born and raised in the Tri-Cities. He is the president of Lampson International. His company supports many community groups, such as the YMCA, Second Harvest Food Bank, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and the United Way.

Lampson has been on the boards of about 15 community organizations serving the Tri-Cities and Washington. He was named Kennewick Man of the Year in 1991 and Tri-Citian of the Year in 1992.

-- Watson was born in Spokane in 1950 and moved to the Tri-Cities for junior high and high school. He was a teacher and administrator in the Kennewick School District for many years. And Watson was named a National Distinguished Principal in 2002. Since retiring from the school district, Watson has been a hospice volunteer at The Chaplaincy in Kennewick. He also helped with the Hurricane Katrina cleanup. Watson was awarded a Red Cross Real Heroes award in 2010.
