Tri-City area Ford dealerships are helping schools by collecting General Mills Box Tops for Education.
Prosser's Tom Denchel Ford Country and Legacy Ford of Pasco are helping with the effort.
Consumers will be able to raise money for schools of their choice in October and November.
Instead of just buying General Mills products, participants can earn and collect Box Tops for their local school by requesting a brochure from the official Ford/BTFE program website at FordDrivesBoxTops.com, watching product videos on the program website or buying a Ford at dealerships during October and November.
Ford estimates it will give more than $1 million to schools during the two-month program through box top redemptions.
"We already raise money for local high school activities through Drive One 4 UR School test drives, most recently for Hermiston and Prosser high schools, and this gives us an additional way to contribute to our community," said Tom Denchel, owner of Tom Denchel Ford Country, in a news release.
