* 2005 -- De'Andre Wheeler returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown, Sean Winston rushed for 105 yards, Eric Rose passed for 260 more, and Sam Cartmell caught eight passes for 102 as Richland defeated Kamiakin 29-21 in football.

* 1989 -- Julie Hoeft and Ari Skorpik each scored a goal as Kamiakin defeated Wenatchee 2-0 in girls soccer.

* 1961 -- Burbank's Ray Washburn was named to pro baseball's Triple-A All-Star team, selected by the nation's baseball writers. Washburn was one of two pitchers named to the Triple-A team. He was 16-9 with a 2.31 ERA for Charleston in the International League. Washburn earned a late-season callup to the St. Louis Cardinals, where he was 1-1.
