Chico's women's clothing boutique at Kennewick's Columbia Center mall is collecting gently used professional clothing for domestic violence victims today.
The clothing will benefit those who are served in Jericho Road Ministries' Esther project.
Amy Schultz, executive director of Jericho Road Ministries, said the year-old project provides shelter for domestic violence victims who can't receive help elsewhere, such as those who have been abused by a roommate or adult sibling.
Often, victims must leave possessions behind, Schultz said. Professional clothing is needed for jobs they already have or interviews to find jobs.
Last year, about 100 victims received help from the Esther Project, she said.
Chico's is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Those who bring in items will receive a store discount.
