Birthday kindness

On the evening of Oct. 8, I was at the Columbia Center mall with friends and family. We were helping a little girl celebrate her fourth birthday. She wanted to spend some of her birthday money at a candy store, so we went to the Carmelcorn Shop. It was just before closing, but instead of trying to rush us or hurry us out the door in order to close on time, the people working there entered into the spirit of celebration.

I don't know anyone's name, but I believe they were a family group, possibly mom, dad, and teenager. They let Cadence take her time making choices, they gave her samples and to top it off, they turned on their cotton candy machine and made her a fresh batch on the house! Their kindness and warmth really blessed our shy little one and sent us all home with a smile.
