RICHLAND -- Things have gotten more interesting atop the CBBN 4A volleyball standings.
Alisha Bettinson had 25 kills and Lauren Joseph had 44 assists Tuesday night as Richland defeated visiting Wenatchee 24-26, 25-20, 20-25, 25-9, 15-12.
"It was a war," Bombers coach Bob Raidl said. "It was a war between two good teams."
Richland moved into a first-place tie with Chiawana at 10-1 to set up a league title clash Thursday night on the Bombers' floor. Wenatchee fell to 7-3.
Richland's Charlene Manning served 13 consecutive points in the fourth set to establish the winning pace for the remainder of the matchup.
"(Charlene) started serving in the fifth game," Raidl said. "We got ahead 5-nothing and were able to hold the lead. It was difficult, but we were fortunate to win. I'm proud of my team."
