Dorothy and Joseph Welch of Richland celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary early by going on a Mediterranean and Trans-Atlantic Cruise. The also had a family reunion at Howard Amon Park.
They were married Oct. 7, 1951, in St. Casimian Catholic Church, Amsterdam, N.Y.
Joseph Welch worked for General Electric in Schenectady, N.Y., and was transferred to Hanford in 1959. He retired from Westinghouse Hanford in 1989 as a mechanical engineer. He served in the Coast Guard in World War II.
Dorothy Welch worked for American Locomotive in Schenectady, N.Y., before moving to Richland. She then became a homemaker.
They are members of Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland, The Kennewick Caravaners and Hanford Retirees luncheon group. Joseph is also a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 3307.
They have four children, David and Becky Welch of Sedro Wooly; Robert and Alma Welch of Kennewick; Patty and Paul Farris of Ellensburg; and Joseph Welch Jr. of Hayden, Idaho. They have 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
