Kennewick police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old who died Wednesday that could be connected to sudden infant death syndrome.

Officers were called to a home in the 1000 block of West 10th Avenue around 7 a.m. Wednesday after it was reported that the infant stopped breathing, police said.

Kennewick firefighters began CPR on the baby and took her to Kennewick General Hospital, where she died.

Kennewick police and the Benton County coroner are awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of death, but investigators say they do not believe it is suspicious.

Anyone with information on the case can call Detective Brian Pochert at 582-1332.
