Heres a quick update on the H1 Unlimiteds, which of course race here in the Tri-Cities every July.
Dave Villwock, who drives the U-96 Spirit of Qatar, has already clinched the drivers championship with just one race left the Oryx Cup UIM Championship on Nov. 17-19 in Doha, Qatar.
The boat itself has not clinched the title, but should do so in Qatar.
Meanwhile, the unlimiteds have been busy putting on some exhibition races in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., trying to get those places on board for a race in 2012.
Two other boats, the U-22 Webster boat and the U-25 Superior Racing, are en route to Abu Dhabi for an exhibition during the Union Internationale Motonautique general assembly meeting in a few weeks.
The top-10 boats are also in a cargo ship en route to Qatar to prepare for the Oryx Cup.
Finally, the first of the Air National Guard television shows aired Sunday on Versus Television.
The Madison Lucas Oil Indiana Governors Cup was shown yesterday, and over the next five Sundays, always at 1 p.m., a race or special will be shown on Versus.
The Lamb Weston Columbia Cup will be shown on Oct. 23.
The Oryx Cup will be shown on Dec. 25.
