Readers, writers and any other interested parties are invited to take part in the annual Rivers of Ink event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Richland Community Center.

The event is free and open to the public. Guest writer will be Christy Leskovar, author of One Night in a Bad Inn.

Session topics include what's hot and what's not, current trends in the book world, e-publishing, traditional publishing, writing life stories, poetry, rhyme and other topics.

New this year will be a writer's workshop from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 7, which includes sessions by nine local authors and professionals. Cost is $20.
