1987 -- The Richland football team moved to 4-0 in Big Nine Conference play after defeating Davis 24-14. Ryan Sorenson rushed for 76 yards for the Bombers, while quarterback Jason Martinez accounted for 94 yards.

1980 -- Pasco's Jane and Bill Thomas picked up their hardware for their recent national championship win in New York. The brother-sister doubles team claimed the National Equitable Family Tennis Challenge.

1971 -- Pasco graduate Bruce Kison pitched 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and picked up the victory as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Francisco Giants 9-5 to clinch the National League title and move into the World Series, where they would face the Baltimore Orioles.
