* 1989: Pasco High's Debbie Sporcich had 25 kills and five blocks to lead the Bulldogs over Kennewick 15-2, 15-10 and 15-10 in a Big Nine Conference volleyball match.

* 1977: Columbia Basin College running back Tom Ramberg was named the NWAACC Offensive Player of the Week after he rushed 45 times for 291 yards in a 31-24 victory over Walla Walla Community College.

* 1966: Tom Jacobs was elected to a third consecutive term as president of the Tri-City Atoms' Northwest League baseball team. Also at the meeting, the financial report stated that the team showed a $3,000 profit for the 1966 season.
