A Kennewick man was arrested in connection with a construction site theft Monday after the victim tracked down his stolen goods online and called police.

The burglary was reported from a construction site at 5404 W. 16th Ave., said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin. A number of items were stolen, including a commercial paint sprayer.

The victim checked on Craigslist and found his paint sprayer listed for sale and made arrangements to meet the seller Monday night to check it out, Lattin said.

The victim used the serial number to confirm the suspect had his paint sprayer and bought it back.

He then took pictures of the suspect's car and called police, Lattin said.

Officers contacted Joshua N. Hambrook, 28, at his home in the 1000 block of South Zillah Street, Lattin said.

After getting a warrant to search the home, officers identified Hambrook as the person who posted the ad, and he was arrested.

Other construction tools were seized from the home, and officers are trying to track down the owners.

Hambrook was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree trafficking stolen property.
