Ceremonial shovels are used to break ground for the EnergySolutions Engineering Laboratory off George Washington Way across from WSU-TC's Richland. The $3 million building will be donated to Washington State University Tri-Cities, then leased by EnergySolutions to conduct vit plant tank research for Bechtel. Construction is starting later this month and the building is scheduled to open next summer. About 40 people attended. TRI-CITY HERALD/BOB BRAWDY
