I surveyed the Columbia River to create the ideal river boating experience for co-workers, and then made the trip. Observations: Pick up the party at Columbia Park Marina where there is ample parking close to the dock. There is also fuel. (The walk up to Kimos or McDougals Bay is unsafe, so don't try.)
I chose to go up-river cruising past Howard Amon Park and returning to Columbia Point Marina with the incomparable Anthony's Restaurant.
Boat parking is abundant and the short walk up to the restaurant is beautifully landscaped. The outdoor deck is ideal. Or, consider Jack-son's Sports Bar just a short walk up from the new Howard Amon dock.
Honorable mention is the trip toward the beautiful Cable Bridge to Ice Harbor at the (Clover Island) Marina. There is fuel adjacent to the limited transient parking. It has been a great summer for boating!
