OTHELLO -- One man was injured Saturday after a driver failed to yield on an Othello highway, said the Washington State Patrol.

Ramon Cantu Jr. of Othello was southbound in a 1996 Saturn approaching Highway 26 around 6:50 p.m. when he pulled out in front of a 1997 Oldsmobile driven by Manuel Zapata-Dominguez, who was heading east and approaching First Street, the patrol said.

Zapata-Dominguez, 37, of Othello, was transported to Othello Hospital. Cantu, 21, was uninjured, the patrol said.

Cantu was charged with failing to yield right of way, negligent driving and having no insurance. Drugs or alcohol also appear to be involved, the patrol said.
