SPOKANE -- When it rains, it pours.
The Spokane Chiefs flooded the Tri-City Americans' net with seven goals Saturday night, winning their home opener 7-2 at Spokane Arena.
It was the first lost of the season for Tri-City (3-1-0-0), which beat Spokane (1-1-0-0) last weekend in its home opener.
Anthony Bardaro had a hat trick for Spokane, scoring the first two goals of the game -- both on the power play.
Steven Kuhn gave the Chiefs a 3-0 lead at the end the first period, and Bardaro scored his third goal at 6:05 of the second for a 4-0 lead.
Darren Kramer, in his first game since returning from the Ottawa Senators' camp, put the Chiefs out front 5-0 midway through the second period, ending the night of Tri-City rookie Eric Comrie, who finished with 11 saves.
Adam Hughesman put a little life into the Americans' game with a goal at 15:12 of the second with an assist by Mason Wilgosh.
Collin Valcourt and Kuhn added goals for Spokane before Mitch Topping finished the scoring for Tri-City with his second goal of the season at 8:42 of the third.
Ty Rimmer had 19 saves in relief of Comrie, while Mac Engel had 31 saves for the Chiefs.
