BENTON CITY -- The Washington State Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team is looking for witnesses who may have seen last week's fatal collision near Benton City.

The team is investigating the 10:15 a.m. Sept. 21 three-vehicle wreck in the westbound lanes of Interstate 82 near Yakitat Road.

A wide-load truck was headed in the right lane followed by a pilot car. A third vehicle, a smaller truck, hit the rear of the pilot car, forcing it into the semi-truck's trailer. The pilot car driver died in the crash.
