In my lifetime, I really would like to see the Corps of Engineers and or the cities of Kennewick and Richland do something with Columbia Park.

Having grown up here, I just think it is a waste but yet has so much potential. Why only use the park the few days of the year for boat races? Why not make it like Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah?

Keep the grass on the north side of the park road lush and green. Then let hotels, stores, restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, rental shops and more have the south side of the property to the fence backing Highway 240.

Maybe add an area for bicycle races, a Grand Prix style car race, maybe nighttime motocross. Wouldn't any of these ideas be great in our lifetime?
