The Kennewick REI will hold a community night Monday to celebrate the store's recent remodeling and expansion.

The reception also will honor REI grant recipients Friends of Badger Mountain, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the Tri-Cities' scenic ridgeline, and Tapteal Greenway Association, known for activities to preserve the lower Yakima River and its watershed.

In the past five years, REI has provided more than $100,000 in grants to Tri-City organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship. The store is at 129 N. Ely St.
