KENNEWICK -- The Tri-Cities Fever signed former NFL player Stoney Woodson, a cornerback out of South Carolina who was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 draft by the New York Giants.

Woodson played in two preseason games for the Giants before an ankle injury ended his season. He was placed on injured reserve by the Giants and later released. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him to a future reserve contract in 2010.

Woodson is known as a speed guy in the secondary, recording 40-yard dash times of 4.53 and 4.57 seconds during his draft workouts.
