There will be plenty of entertainment at the 36th annual Sausage Fest, which is Sept. 16-17 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland.

Smooth as Jazz, The Vaughn Jensen Band, Bluestone and the Coyote Kings will keep the atmosphere lively as the expected 30,000 people mingle through the grounds sampling sausage, wine and beer.

Admission to the festival is free, and it's open to all ages. There's even plenty of games for the kids.

Smooth as Jazz is the husband/wife team of Pasente and Tiffany Loving. Pasente is a semi-professional musician and music producer. The Lovings have been performing together for about four years.

The Vaughn Jensen Band is no stranger to the Tri-City music scene. It plays a mix of R&B and blues with more energy than some rock bands.

Bluestone is a new jazz group that features John Farey on keyboard and trombone and Greg Miner on sax, flute and harmonica. Bruce Kirton plays bass.

Coyote Kings are a hot bluesy rock band making plenty of noise throughout the Northwest.

There also will be an arts and crafts area, bingo, a farmers market and dance exhibitions by middle school and high school students.

The Catholic grade school says proceeds from the Sausage Fest, which began in 1977, contribute 10 percent of its operating budget.
