A Milton-Freewater man died in a Seattle hospital from injuries he suffered in a Friday car accident two miles north of Walla Walla.

Charles N. Wallace, 58, died Monday night at Harborview Medical Center, said the Washington State Patrol.

He was a passenger in a 2008 Honda Civic that was hit head-on at 7 a.m. Friday on Highway 125.

WSP investigators said Cody James Lynch, 23, of Waitsburg, was headed south on the highway in a 1995 Chevy Cavalier when he crossed the center line and hit the Honda.

The Honda driver, Eric Wayne Banks, 52, of Walla Walla, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with injuries. Lynch was also taken to St. Mary's. All three were wearing seat belts.

Inattention is believed to be the cause of the accident, which still is under investigation, said the state patrol.
