SPOKANE -- Anthony Armstrong, a Kamiakin senior and defending 3A state champion, topped the field at the prestigious Tracy Walters Invite in Spokane, finishing in 15 minutes and seven seconds -- 30 seconds ahead of Keith Williams of North Central.
"Six of the top 10 regional boys teams are here," said Kamiakin coach Matt Rexus. "The state meet might be easier than this. It's a ridiculous way for us to start the season, but we did very well."
The Braves boys finished second in the team race with 176 points, 30 points behind five-time defending 3A state champ North Central.
Keegan McCormick, Austin Richards and Austin Oser all posted top-20 finishes for Kamiakin.
