* 1988 -- Sophomore Julie Meier had five goals to lead Richland to an 8-0 soccer victory over Walla Walla. Kristen Olsen added two goals as the Bombers outshot the Blue Devils 41-3.

* 1966 -- Jeff Copenhaver ran for a touchdown and had an interception, and Russ Vickerman caught a 57-yard touchdown pass and recovered a fumble to lead Kiona-Benton to a 13-0 victory over Pomery. Bears quarterback Russ Pogue threw for 105 yards.

* 1951 -- "Sure we're undermanned," Prosser coach Art Fiker said. "But you won't find any defeatist attitude here. Actually, we may be a lot stronger at the end of the season than we look right now." Fiker inherited the Mustangs' reins when Uncle Sam drafted Bob Doornink.
