With the Summer waning, boating safety is still on the minds of most folks on the water. Most, not all.

Boaters, please be aware of your surroundings, including the anglers trying to catch the elusive salmon.

This plea also applies to the two guys in the red twin-V-hull cigarette boat wannabe who came tearing downstream through the salmon fishing flotilla just off the confluence of the Yakima and Columbia River at about 9 a.m. Labor Day.

Naughty, naughty.
