A Moses Lake man suffered critical injuries when his boat crashed into a concrete wall along the shoreline.

Michael Hoffstot was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake and later flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he was admitted into the intensive care unit, Grant County sheriff's officials said.

The crash happened Saturday on Moses Lake. Alcohol is suspected of being a factor in the collision. Moses Lake police, firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded.

Two passengers, Gloria Martinez, 54, and Wesley Hoffstot, 24, both of Moses Lake, declined treatment at the scene, but Martinez was later taken to Samaritan Hospital as well, officials said.

Sheriff's marine deputies are investigating the crash for possible consideration of assault by watercraft charges, officials said.
