The Americans opened the preseason with a 5-2 win over Everett. Goals by five different guys, and Ty Rimmer and Eric Comrie shared time in net.

Sure, it's just one game, against an Everett team that claims it's in a rebuilding mode. But a win is a win. It's the Portland Winterhawks on Saturday afternoon. The WHL website has all the preseason game sheets — this is a first, and a big help. Follow along.

Was nice to see the D-men get into the action with Mitch Topping and Michal Plutnar finding the net, and Zach Yuen assisting on the game's first goal — Justin Feser's shorty in the second period.

There are six games on the schedule Saturday, including Spokane-Everett. The Chiefs beat Seattle 5-3 on Friday.
