A 20-year-old Pasco man accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and trying to kidnap her is being held on $50,000 bail.

Saul Castaneda was arrested Wednesday by Pasco police after the woman called police and said Castaneda ran off when her parents woke up, court documents said.

The victim told officers that Castaneda showed up at her bedroom window and told her to leave her family and come with him, documents said.

She said she refused and told him he wasn't supposed to be there because of a no-contact order imposed from an earlier domestic violence incident.

Castaneda reportedly forced his way into her room, grabbed a large black bag and started to put her clothes in it. He kept telling her it was time to go and repeated "let's go, let's go," several times, documents said.

The victim's parents woke up and when her father went to her room, he saw Castaneda and yelled at him to leave, documents said.

Castaneda apparently went to the front door, but then refused to go. The victim's father was able to partially shut the door, but Castaneda slammed his body into the door, breaking the door jam, documents said.

Castaneda took off running when the dad called 911.

Officers went to Castaneda's house and found him in the laundry room behind a built-in dresser, documents said.

Castaneda made his initial appearance in court Wednesday and told Judge Robert Swisher that he was living at the home and the woman is his fiancee and is pregnant with his baby.

He said they are going to counseling and trying to work on things.

Swisher set bail at $50,000. Prosecutors have until today to charge Castaneda or release him.
