Quick hits
* All-state QB Bartlow will be surrounded by a wall of talent this season, including the highly athletic Eshom Estes, who stars in track and field, as well as receiving leaders Dalton Estes and Wooderchak. Estes had 23 catches for 398 yards and five touchdowns, and Wooderchak had 14 receptions for 199 yards.
* W-P graduated 12 players from its machine, including top cog Kris Cady. The running back set Cardinals records in rushing -- 1,347 yards -- and passing -- 2,169 yards.
* Assisting 2010 Southeast 2B Coach of the Year Bartlow are Joe Estes, TJ Scott, Allan Wilson and special teams coordinator Troy Larsen.
Outlook
W-P rolled through its league schedule and took the Southeast 2B title last season. The Cardinals romped through the state championship bracket until a 21-14 semifinal loss to Colfax.
If W-P can survive its clashes with perennial threat DeSales and shore up the loss of experience, including replacing the yardage lost with Cady's graduation, then the Cardinals will no doubt return to the Tacoma Dome in November.
