It's been several years since the last performance, but we can be thankful that this group is back: The African Children's Choir will perform at Kennewick High School at 7 p.m. Sept. 8.
It's a one-time event you really don't want to pass up. This choir is made up of children from Uganda, ages 6 to 10 years.
In 2004, the choir performed to a packed house at First Presbyterian Church. In 2007 and 2008, they returned again, and the venue was moved to Kennewick High's auditorium so that more people could attend. Those performances were again filled to capacity. It would certainly be amazing if this community could do that again!
There is no admission price but they do take donations to support the parent organization Music for Life. The group, charity, established by Ray Barnett in 1984, builds, maintains and operates its own schools in Africa.
At a time when there is so much bad news, this concert brings joy through singing and dancing. Don't miss your opportunity to see such a fantastic group of talented and enthusiastic young children!
