* 1987 -- The Rainier Light men's softball team of Kennewick outscored its opponents 50-22 and won four consecutive games at the ASA Class C Regional Tournament in Billings, Mont.

* 1965 -- Two Kennewick cowboys capped big days during the final go-round of the Benton-Franklin County Rodeo. Kenny Clegg compiled times of 5.2 seconds and 8.1 to win the steer-wrestling honors and belt buckle for the two-day show. John Gravenslund took second in the bulldogging, with a composite of 14.3 seconds for two steers. Gravenslund, who shared team-steer wrestling honors with Clegg, also established an arena record by bouncing his steer in an astounding 4.5 seconds.
